In his third year with the Cowboys, Terence Newman has developed into one of the best cornerbacks in the league. Selected by the Cowboys with the fifth pick in the '03 NFL Draft, Newman electrified the college ranks playing for the Kansas-State Wildcats, even winning the Jim Thorpe Award as the nations best defensive back. Always fun and a great person to be around, we caught up with T-New and asked him a few questions about sports and the hobby.
Donruss: Did you collect trading cards growing up as a kid and do you still have them?
Terence Newman: Yep, I still have them all locked away in trunk I keep hidden in a secret location.
Donruss: Remember any Donruss cards?
TNEW: I had them all!
Donruss: What was your favorite sport growing up as a kid and who was your favorite athlete?
TNEW: I loved Baseball and I loved Michael Jordan.
Donruss: Did you ask him for an autograph or anyone else before you made it to the NFL?
TNEW: I grew up in Kansas and where I lived we didn’t have a pro team. So, I never really had the chance to see any of my heroes in person until I was older.
Donruss: Who would you pay to watch play, any sport?
TNEW: Right now, I'd say A.I., Allen Iverson.
Donruss: What was the first thing you bought after you became a pro?
TNEW: Hmm, I remember going out and buying some new dress clothes...
Donruss: Do you have any pre-game rituals?
TNEW: It's all about sitting back and listening to music baby!
