George and Barbara Bush sign autographs for the Donruss Americana series
ARLINGTON, TX - Officials at Donruss confirmed that both George and Barbara Bush have signed autographs for the up-coming release of Donruss Celebrity Cuts. The second release in the Donruss Americana series, Celebrity Cuts is set to hit hobby stores the middle of next month.
"We are extremely excited that Donruss was able to confirm the industry's first official trading card agreement with a former president," said Donruss Marketing Director Scott Prusha. "This year's political race has been very compelling and garnered much media attention, so the fact that Donruss was able to contractually obtain the first official autographs or memorabilia from a president is something we believe will set our products apart."
Both Bush's signed autographs and provided pieces of personally worn material to the Donruss Trading Card Company. Both will make their autograph and memorabilia debut in the Celebrity Cuts program. With the George Bush Presidential Library located in College Station, the elder Bush provided Donruss with one of his Texas A & M t-shirts. Barbara Bush provided one of her scarves.
To commemorate the 41st President of the United States, Donruss will include 41 autographs of each in the program : 25 Gold Autograph Cards, 1 Platinum Autograph Card, 10 Signed Memorabilia Cards and 5 Signed Dual Memorabilia Combo Cards.
The Donruss Americana series is a one-of-a-kind trading card program featuring the top names in Hollywood - entertainment, politics and sports. The release features many autographs and memorabilia cards of the personalities depicted.
"Donruss Americana is the most unique trading card set ever produced because there is something in there for everyone," adds Prusha.
The eclectic group of personalities from the worlds of entertainment, politics, sports and history include: John Travolta, Burt Reynolds, William Shatner, James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, Steve McQueen, Marlon Brando, Willie Mays, Jackie Robinson and many more. Presidential candidate, Mike Huckabee made his debut in the first release of Donruss Americana in January.
