Position: Prepress Assembly Operator (Full Time)
Description:

Job Summary Statement: Work with state of the art equipment in the preparation of files for proofing and printing. High degree of proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign required. Prinergy Workflow experience a plus. This is a production job (NOT a design or creative job).

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare design files into print ready master files to be used in the process of building full card sets.
  • Prepare provided information into documents to be used in building of final files.
  • Supply print outs of all files built for internal and league approvals.
  • Retouch and color correct images to company standards for use in the card building process.
  • Mask and outline images as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Prinergy workflow experience highly desired.
  • High degree of proficiency in: Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
  • Competent knowledge of pre-production materials including film, foils and proofing material
  • Understanding of Pre-Press and Print Industry standards, including proofing and quality control.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Mac computers; fundamental knowledge of ripping and trapping of files.
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of sports and entertainment trading card or trading card game industry is desirable.
  • Must be self-motivated with ability to handle multiple, high priority projects with a keen attention to detail.
  • Regular attendance required; ability to work 7-3 shift with additional hours as needed.

Education &/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. College Degree with an emphasis in Graphic Arts a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in the field of Pre-Press or related area.

Position: Imaging Services Assistant (Full Time)
Description:

Job Summary Statement:

Working in our Photography Department, this position will assist with identifying, selecting and cataloging photo images for use in sports cards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Download photos from DVD/Compact flash cards; label images.
  • Catalog images into Media Bank; add metadata. Select images for programs.
  • Prepare purchase orders for vendors; check invoices for accuracy and forward for payment.
  • Request credentials and follow-up with sports teams on credentials status.
  • Communicate with freelance photographers on photo needs and images needed.
  • Keep inventory of items needed for photographers (DVDs, Compact flash cards, etc.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to identify and distinguish sports players through photographs.
  • Ability to interpret photo requirements from a design and player’s list.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, deal with change, delays or unexpected events; must be organized.
  • Knowledge of sports industry and trading card audiences preferred.
  • Exhibit professional demeanor with photographers and other clientele.
  • Good business judgment and independent thinking required.

Equipment/Software, Education and Experience (minimum requirements):

  • 2 or more years related experience.
  • Knowledge of MS Office and Outlook; ability to use word processing software; Word preferred.
  • Experience using Adobe Suite, especially Photoshop required.

Position: Print Production Estimator (Full Time)
Description:

Job Summary Statement:

Create production budgets for each program manufactured using contract pricing. Work closely with Production and Product Development departments to determine cost-saving initiatives and maintain budget parameters. Forecast annual production cost benchmarks based on annual sales forecasts.

The ideal candidate will posses experience in a related field, such as Accounting and/or Cost Accounting. Specific experience in Print Estimating a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create budgets using printer/manufacturer contract pricing. Review pricing and engineering data with printer.
  • Provide raw material forecasts to vendors and cost-analysis regarding vendor contracts.
  • Support the preparation of the annual operating budget, including production costs.
  • Quote Sales and Marketing programs; often requires writing technical information for quotes.
  • Collaborate with Design and PD departments to outline budget parameters and update budgets.
  • Research and qualify new vendors overseas and in the U.S.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Accounting/math aptitude with extensive knowledge of printing and manufacturing needed to determine production constraints and help pinpoint cost-saving alternatives.
  • Strong negotiating skills; ability to write technical specs for vendors; able to interact effectively with people at all levels, internally as well as externally.
  • Understanding of cash flow and financial mathematics.
  • Exhibit an advanced ability to perceive and analyze production problems and develop alternative strategies to solve them.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities and see projects through to completion under minimal supervision.
  • Flexible with multi-tasking abilities. New business development is often unplanned and requires quick costing.

Equipment/Software, Education and Experience (minimum requirements):

  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; Outlook, Navision and internal web-based systems.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred with 5 years related experience.
